Annual General Report & Meeting – 2022

Annual General Report - Reporting Period: April 2021 - March 2022

“Planting seeds of Justice”
Community Gathering ~ Annual General Meeting

The Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic, Clinique juridique communautaire de Hamilton,  Clare Freeman, cordially invite you to join us in community on September 14, 2022 from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM to our annual general meeting.

In 2011, three legal clinics operating in the City of Hamilton amalgamated to form the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic. This amalgamation recognized the importance of a centralized clinic structure that enabled further reach into our growing community.  At its root, the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic focuses on growing access to justice for all Hamiltonians. In this mission, we have grown to adapt our services in order to better understand and respond to the unique legal needs of our community members and neighbours.

We work to grow access to justice in and across the City of Hamilton through both individual case work across various legal practice areas, and through our community development and systemic law reform projects. In the next decade of our work, we will continue to expand and grow justice alongside our neighbours and community.

The opening ceremony will be conducted by Jim Doxtator.  Mia Laronde, Leo Johnson and Dr. Ameil Joseph will bring their greetings as our community partners.

Andrew Amoah, a Hamiltonian artist and activist will treat us with a musical performance.

The event will start with our AGM at 4:00 PM and the community portion at starts at 4:30 PM.

The event will be held in the foyer just outside of our offices, here on the 2nd floor of 100 Main Street East. We encourage you to bring out your friends, neighbours and community members to join the celebration! through our Eventbrite, linked here:…/planting-seeds-of-justice….   This event will also be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook @hamiltonjustice.

To ensure the accessibility of this event to all our community, and especially for our elders’ safety, we will encourage attendees to wear a mask to help minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Thank you, we hope to see you!
